RUMPLESTILTSKIN THE DARK ONE
Rumplestiltskin, also known as Mr. Gold, The Crocodile, Weaver, and The Dark One, was born long ago between a man named Malcolm and a woman named Fiona, each would abandon him in one way or another. His mother had noble designs, to save him from his destiny (For he was born to be a savior to die against a great evil, however the great evil was born at the exact same winter moment, and was actually himself.) However her noble design became treacherous and she became the vile Black Fairy, in her attempts to create a Dark curse she was banished from their realm and the other faries explain that she is dead, thinking his son is to blame, he gives him a fitting name, Rumplestilskin, for many years Malcolm swindled and conned to provide for them much to Rumple's chagrin, Malcolm eventually leaves him with a pair of spinster weaver women for long periods where Rumple learns to weave and sew. He believes his father is working, however he is still thieving and swindling villagers, when Rumple discovers this, he finds a way to get a magic bean and take them away to Neverland, however when the arrive to the place his father knew in youth his father discovers he no longer belongs there, except the Shadow tells him there is a way...He must give up his age and his son and become a Forever Child, and Malcolm quickly agrees, The shadow whisks Rumple away and drops him at the Spinsters house, where he lives out his childhood. [break][break]
Years pass, and seasons change and Rumple grows into a young man, he marries a woman named Milah. But after some time he is drafted to fight in the Ogre wars, seeing an opportunity to eschew to the cowardly reputation his father had left him to live in, he readily takes to his training and is assigned to protect the seer. However the Seer explained his future to him, if he fights the men will win the war, but at the price his life, he will die a hero, his son will grow up destitute and alone if this is to happen and other dark things will rise up and consume the world. So Rumple hobbles himself, causing him to walk with a limp, he is discharged from service and returns home to discover Milah is indeed pregnant with their son Baelfire, however Milah is disgusted with his cowardice and years of harshness between the two begin.
Years later when Baelfire is a young boy, and Rumple is the village cripple married to Milah, she spends most of her time at the local tavern entertaining a certain pirate, and her time at home berating Rumple and telling him he cannot do anything to help except play with their son, as its all he's good for. One day while he is weaving and Bael plays in the wood's his parents hear a scream and rush to find Baelfire bitten by a poisonous snake, Milah kills the snake and they rush the boy to Kendrake the healer, who tells them that while fatel he has an antidote that would cure the boy, however it would cost 100 gold pieces. Dismayed the parents leave and Milah plots and convinces Rumple to kill the healer and still the potion, she manipulates Rumple with a sudden kiss, and he readily agrees, however when Kendrake awakes and does not resist, Rumple who doesn't wish to become a murder, refuses, so Kendrake offers another deal, his second born child for the antidote, thinking he will have no more children Rumple agrees and Bael is saved however Milah is once more disgusted at Rumple's cowardice and begins to frequent the local tavern more.
One day Rumple gets wind that Milah has been kidnapped by the band of pirates and goes to the docks to confront the Pirate Killian, however he refuses to duel him and leaves dejected, he returns home and tells Bael his mother is dead.
[break][break]
A few years pass since Milah's departure, and another Ogre war breaks out. This time the lords of the land decide to use children to fill their armies much to Rumples fear. While his father frets over what to do for fear of Bael being drafted to die in the war. Then the fateful day comes and they run into the woods but are hindered by Rumple's injury. The knights find them and humiliate them. Rumple is incensed, then afterwards a strange man appears out of the woods and tells of a Dagger in the Duke's castle, inside this castle is the Dark One's dagger, he who holds it can control the Dark one and all his power is at the holders hand. Rumple sets fire to the dukes castle and steals the Dagger which bears the name Zoso. He takes it back to the woods and summons the Dark One, however the Dark one taunts Rumple, and says Bael isn't his, he keeps taunting him until at last Rumple lashes out and stabs the Dark one in the chest, it is revealed the old man from before is the Dark One, and he whispers its a relief to be free, and recounts all the evil he did as the Dark One, Rumple's name takes Zoso's place upon the Dagger, and a New Dark one is risen. Enamored with this new found power, Rumple finds the Knights who humiliated him, repays them in kind, then proceeds to end the Ogre war by killing them all, his appearance once normal was now ghastly, his skin a sickly shade of green, and his hair more curly. [break][break]
As the Dark One Rumple had saved the area from the Ogre wars and was mostly hailed a hero, however he kept using his power for ill gotten gains for him and Bael, much to Bael's disgust, finally Rumple agree's to using less magic if it means Bael is happier, however one the Baker's son pushes Bael, Rumple punishes the other boy's father. Bael begins to plot to take them to a land bereft of magic so they can be a family again, Rumple begrudgingly agrees.
They are given a Magic bean and once in the woods decide to use it, however as Bael is falling in Rumple has a change of heart and catches him, however Bael is seemingly too heavy and trying to get to the other land pleading and begging his father to come with him. However Rumple's cowardly nature and love of power prevents him from joining his son who slips from his grasp. Rumple is left behind, power intact but now wifeless and sonless, he mourns and he sets about commiting great evil and atrocities across the land, all in the hopes of causing a monumental curse to return him to his son. His reputation as one of the most ruthless Dark One's the world had seen proceeding him, he cuts deals, raises queens and murders and pillages across the land. All in a vain effort to find his son, even going as far as to curse Fairy tale land and create a city in the modern world known as Storybrooke where is known as Mr. Gold the owner of the town, and local pawnshop. Through the years Rumple held many political prisoners however none where as special to him as Belle, whom is his one true love.
